Cooperative Collaboration: Stanislaus Farm Supply and California Dairies, Inc.
Farmer’s Cooperatives Collaborate to Improve Supply Chain & Community Retail Store
MODESTO & VISALIA, CA (March 31, 2022) – Stanislaus Farm Supply and California Dairies, Inc. (CDI) today announced a collaboration to improve the supply chain and availability of crop inputs for their dairy members. Stanislaus Farm Supply is also assuming operation of CDI’s Los Banos retail store location.
The alliance features two leading farmer-owned cooperatives in their respective spaces: Stanislaus Farm Supply, specializing in the supply of fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and farm supplies; and CDI, California’s largest marketer and processor of member milk production. This effort will expand vertical integration opportunities for CDI member-owners in the area of crop inputs, providing ownership of a critical step in the supply chain and the ability to capture the value that delivers.
In Los Banos, the “Dairymen’s Store,” located at 1160 G Street, has been serving the needs of the local community and dairies for generations. Stanislaus Farm Supply, an experienced agricultural retailer with existing stores in both California and Nevada, will be expanding the store’s product offering and integrating the store into the existing network of retail stores owned by the coop. A grand re-opening celebration of the store and lunch at Wool Growers is planned for May.
“This is an exciting development for not only our local farmer-owners who patronize the Los Banos store location, but for our broader membership as well,” said Brad Anderson, President and Chief Executive Officer, California Dairies, Inc. “This strengthened relationship with Stanislaus Farm Supply will unlock additional member benefit opportunities in the area of sourcing crop inputs that we are excited to unveil in months to come.”
“This effort is about farmers and dairy producers pooling their resources and purchasing power to improve the supply and availability of the products you need,” said Nickolas J. Biscay, President and Chief Executive Officer, Stanislaus Farm Supply. “We look forward to local producers joining us to improve the supply chain and cultivating the community.”
